Dear Praying Friends,

In the prayer update we just sent we forgot to give you an update about the things stolen out of our car. Nothing has been recovered yet (keep praying), however Dan has had his driver’s license re-issued. We are also still working on getting Kim’s medicine purchasing license replaced, but it will be at least a month before it is accomplished and in hand. So keep praying for that too.

The amazing thing about our robbery is that the Browncroft Community Church team that came to Ethiopia a week after the event, brought two brand new Think Pad computers to us as gifts; one for Kim for the clinic and one for our new nurse, Jill. These generous gifts from anonymous donors really blew us away. What a testimony to body life! Rejoice with us in God’s provision through His people!!

Blessings,

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you for all who have been praying for Dochey, son of two of Kim’s nurses. He suffered a compression fracture of his skull when he fell from the 1.5 meter height last week. Living where we do, it took some time to work through the medical system and get him seen at an appropriate facility by a qualified provider, but he was admitted to hospital and has been on IV medications to reduce edema in his head and to counteract infection. He is much improved and was released from hospital late yesterday. The pediatrician is keeping him close by so he can still monitor his progress. But so far so good! Please keep praying for him and his family and that there will be no residual effects from his injury!

Now that we have given you that update, we have other important updates as well. It thrills our hearts to tell you the news that our daughter Andrea has been engaged to a wonderful man named Jeremy Beyette. They met last spring just before we were sent home unexpectedly for medical check-ups for Dan. While we were home those weeks we were able to get to know Jeremy and wondered then if he would become Andrea’s soul mate. He recently proposed on Lover’s Lane at Watkins Glen, NY. They plan to marry in Rochester, NY this next May.

Other news is that Amy and Kevin’s house closing for the sale of their house is tomorrow. They also tell us that they have about 70% of their missionary support raised so far. Please be praying that their house closing happens without any glitches and that the remaining 30% of their support comes in soon. They have had some health struggles when their youngest child, Elise, contracted a MRSA skin infection which caused them a number doctor’s visits, a few trips to the emergency room and some surgical procedures, but all is well now.

Please be in prayer for Alan. His special gal, Megan, found a good job in Plano, TX. But Alan is not doing well being 5 ½ hours away working in Siloam Springs, AR. He is searching for a job to relocate closer to her, but so far he has had no job offers. Pray that the Lord will open up the job of His choice for him.

This past month has been a busy one for us in Langano with a team of 5 from the Browncroft Community Church. We had a wonderful time with them for their 2 week stay. Their help in construction and at the clinic was greatly appreciated. We were even able to do a medical/evangelistic outreach trip to a place called Tufa, on the other side of Lake Langano. Thanks to their contributions, good progress has been made on the clinic addition, many people benefited from the medical expertise of two physician’s assistants on the trip, and we were restocked with supplies needed for the work at Langano. Kim even got a mini-vacation afterwards with three days away in Gondar with a couple of the team members who spent some extra time in Ethiopia. She appreciated visiting this historical city in Northern Ethiopia that boasts 44 ruins of medieval castles and churches. It was definitely a refreshing time for her.

May God bless you for supporting our work in Langano with prayer.

Dear Praying Friends,

It has been another crazy time since we last wrote.

Last weekend on our way into Addis Ababa to take Jill, our new missionary nurse to 6 weeks of language school, our car was broken into when we stopped off to get a bite to eat. The thieves took a lot….Jill’s new computer, video camera and digital camera, Joan’s (our school teacher) suitcase, Kim’s suitcase with her medicine purchasing license and a stack of government reports, her work computer, an almost finished needle work project she was making for our grandson, a new bag Dan had given her that morning for her birthday, Dan’s leather jacket with his driver’s license and money. Did we ever feel bad for everyone’s loss! So instead of a nice evening celebrating Kim’s birthday, as we had envisioned, we ended up in a police station reporting the robbery. We are praying for the return of many or all of these items.

This week we worked trying to recover data for the government reports that were due, procuring a new driver’s license for Dan, and getting a police letter requesting a re-issuance of Kim’s medicine purchasing license. We have also been preparing for a team from the Browncroft Community Church who will be helping Dan with construction and Kim at the clinic for a period of two weeks. Please be praying for this team and for us as they arrive tomorrow morning; that God would use people’s ministry in significant ways, that all would go smoothly, that folks would stay well and have a very profitable time at Langano. We hope to do a mobile clinic outreach in Tufa, an unreached community across the lake next weekend. May God bless that trip and all that is done to reach out to that community!

Please also be in prayer for Joan Smith, our missionary school teacher. Her work permit expires this coming Wednesday. She has just returned from the USA from a 9 month home assignment, and we are praying her work permit is renewed on schedule, so she does not have to leave the country just as school has started.

A big praise is that Dan’s back is significantly better! We are convinced prayer made the difference, along with physical therapy (PT), back strengthening exercises and wearing an S-I belt 24/7. He is so grateful for this obvious answer to prayer.

Thank the Lord too for several folks coming to faith in Christ recently through the clinic ministry and the church planting efforts of our new evangelist. God is at work in people’s lives in significant ways.

Be in prayer for a gal named Fayine that is steeped in the occult and is in real bondage. We have clearly presented the Gospel to her on a few occasions, and she says she wants to believe, but is afraid of her husband’s response if she does. Pray that God would work in a special way, giving the understanding and courage to make her own decision to choose the Kingdom.

Thank you for your prayers. We depend on them.

Dear Praying Friends,

Happy Ethiopian New Year! We just finished celebrating the start of 2004 here in Ethiopia . That should make us 7 years younger here, right?

Since we last wrote a lot has happened. Jill Lemen, an RN from California has arrived in Ethiopia and is getting acclimated to life here in Langano. In another week or so she will be starting a crash course in Oromo in Addis Ababa for 6 weeks. But we are delighted she is here in the country and will be working with us for the next 2 years.

In regards to the flood that we wrote about in our last update, we feel we have sufficiently recovered from that event and most of the clean up is done (though our road between the clinic and the school will never be the same). The school has been cleared of mud, scrubbed clean, some rooms have gotten a fresh coat of paint and school starts tomorrow.

In preparation for the school year God graciously led our teachers to the publisher that prints the Oromo books for the national school system and we were able to buy all the remaining school books they had. We still need more to finish replacing those ruined in the flood, but at least we have a decent supply to start the school year. Please be praying that we are able to get the remaining books in short order.

One neat bit of news is that because 2 our Ethiopian nurses have been trained in OB ultrasound, they were able to diagnose that one of our local Langano women was carrying triplets. When she was 32 weeks we took her to Addis Ababa to deliver the babies at the large teaching hospital. Two weeks and one c-section later, she came home with two little girls and a boy. Right now they are at our House of Hope facility, as the mom developed a post-op infection and the little boy was struggling with aspiration pneumonia. But they are both well mended now. All three babies are gaining nicely, and they will head home later this week.

On a more personal note, another answer to prayer is that our daughter, Amy, and her husband have a buyer for their house!!! Please pray that this sale will go through without any glitches and that the closing will happen as planned on September 30th. Pray too that God provides housing for their family in the meantime, as the house they have been renting is due to be occupied by others shortly. Amy and Kevin had hoped to already be in Kenya by now, but God obviously has other plans. Their goal is now to leave for the field in July 2012. In the meantime, Kevin is still employed teaching for the Rochester City School system. However his teaching venue has changed from the city school he has taught at for the past several years to the public jail, where Kevin will be teaching kids that have landed there. Pray that he can make a difference in these kid’s lives and see lives transformed in the process.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6-7

Trusting Him,
Dan & Kim Scheel

Dear Praying Friends,

This has been quite a week for us!

Monday started overcast with a constant drizzle of rain. Not a great amount, but enough to keep the patient load light at the clinic. About noon, as Kim walked out onto the clinic veranda, a stream of water came racing down the path that leads from the clinic to the elementary school. And then with a great surge it became a river with a powerful current. Muddy water started spilling over into the yards of our SIM worker’s houses. At the same time our yard, and yards of two other missionary residences filled with water and mud, threatening to flood the houses. Voices could be heard calling out, as if someone was in trouble.

For many years we have hoped that we could build a bridge across the river just south of the Langano SIM property. But as other projects grew and funds were short, there was never an opportunity to address that idea. Then we heard that the Ethiopian road works crew was planning to build a bridge at the fording place at which we had envisioned a bridge.

For about 6 months the bridge construction has been underway. This past week the long-awaited bridge was just about complete. The rock and cement bridge looked amply substantial to withstand years of good service. But before the scaffolding could be taken down and the bridge officially opened there must have been a heavy, heavy rain in the mountains far from us that brought all sorts of fallen trees and debris down the river bordering the SIM Langano property. With the scaffolding still in place, it became a catch-all for everything swept down the river toward the lake. Soon the collecting debris became a dam and eventually the river overflowed its banks, flooding both sides of the river.

When the flood waters began to slow and we could assess the damage, we found that one of our elementary school building blocks (2 large classrooms and the school office area) and the new library addition that Dan recently completed had flooded, with all the school books covered with mud or water damaged. Two churches, one on each side of the river, had both suffered substantial flooding. Our Kale Heywot Church evangelist’s house was also flooded, but the evangelist’s house on the other side of the river had been totally swept away! Several of our neighbor’s houses were also engulfed with thick mud, but our own house and our SIM employee houses were all spared when the torrent crested just a few inches short of flooding the houses. Our clinic and camp buildings were also all spared.

Our SIM Sports Friends camp ministry had 80 campers coming into the area that morning. They were phoned while still on the way and arrangements were made to take them to a hotel in a town an hour away to spend the night until we could assess whether or not the planned week of camp could proceed.

The good news is that no one was swept away or hurt in the flood. We are fortunate, as our teachers were teaching a group of kindergarteners at the time in the school building that was flooded. And the evangelist’s family across the river was also not hurt. All were safe and sound. And within 18 hours we were able to bring our 80 campers into Langano.

The flood clean-up began as soon as the river receded enough that it was safe to start work. But even before our crew went to work we checked with our neighbors, our Sports Friends camp staff fed several families whose houses had been flooded and we all made sure everyone was cared for, had a place to go, etc. So the remainder of the week has meant a lot of clean up for Dan and his crew, and making the roads passable once again.

Pray for the family that lost their home and the others that had flood damage, that God would provide abundantly for them and that they will not get discouraged.

The SIM missionary that heads up the SIM Langano Elementary school arrives back from her home assignment tomorrow. We are sure it was quite a blow to her when she heard her supply of school books were badly damaged or ruined. Please keep Joan in your prayers as she assesses the situation and tries to get enough school books and other needed supplies replaced before the start of school the second week of September.

If anyone is interested in helping financially with the needs of the school because of the flood, please contact SIM at the address at the end of this email. The SIM Langano Elementary School project number towards which to give is ET-92753.

Last month we asked you to pray for the nurse staffing problems Kim faced when we returned from the states in mid-May from investigating some medical issues Dan was facing. We just received news that Jill, the short term (2 year) missionary nurse that was delayed due to a support shortage now has ALL of her support raised and will arrive in Ethiopia mid-August. Kim has also found a strongly committed Ethiopian nurse that would like to join our project long term. He is presently in orientation at the clinic. We also have another American nurse practitioner (recent graduate from Baylor U) in the process of joining SIM and hopes to arrive early in 2012. Wow, God sure is answering our staffing needs in a significant way!

In regards to Dan, we asked you to pray about the pain in his legs and back. There have been some positive improvements in that regard through physical therapy. His pain has reduced some, but please do continue to keep him in your prayers.

Thank you for praying. It always makes a difference!

Dear Praying Friends,

We have been back in Ethiopia for a month already and we wonder where the time has gone.

One of the last times we wrote we told you that our house had been broken into at Langano the day before we flew for the states. The good news is that the thief has been apprehended and is in custody. After arriving back in Langano and assessing the damage, we realize it could have been worse. We lost a sewing machine, a DVD player, some SIM cards, various and other a sundry smaller things, but the one item we are particularly sorry to be missing is Dan’s saxophone. That was the one item of sentimental value that the thief took. A few items, such as Kim’s spare glasses, some DVDs and BP cuff were returned, but the rest of the items have not. We are just thankful that in all our years living in Africa this is only the second or third time we have experienced theft.

During the weeks we have been back we have hosted two small groups that have come to Langano to lend a hand. The first was a husband and wife team, Emily (a former SIM Ethiopia MK) and Matt Kartt. Emily is a nurse practitioner and was a tremendous help to Kim during a week when most of our Ethiopian nurses had to be away for one reason or another. Matt, a pilot instructor, helped Dan with numerous things, including taking down and re-erecting a water tower at a different location on the mission station.

The second team that we hosted was a group of three women from Hope Imaging, an ultrasound training organization. We had a great time with these wonderful ladies who spent their time training two of our female nurses in OB ultrasound and in sharing the gospel.

In one of our last updates we told you one of our Ethiopian nurses unexpectedly quit her job due to child care difficulties. In addition, our missionary co-workers, Shane and Allyson Smith, have just left for an 8 month home assignment, putting us short an additional nurse. This has put a strain on our medical staff. Kim has been actively seeking solutions, in not only replacing the Ethiopian nurse, but perhaps hiring 1 or 2 others besides to take up the slack when nurses need to be away. Please be praying with us that God would lead us to the people of His choice to join our medical team. We need people with a missionary heart!

Pray too for a gal named Jill, who has planned to join our clinic staff as an SIM missionary nurse for a two year period since last November. However, her support has been slow in coming in, so Jill has had to postpone her plans to come to Langano. Pray that she will not get discouraged and that God will enable her to raise the support shortage she has so she can join our team.

In addition to these, keep praying for Dan and his back/leg pain. The medication he is on is not working as well as we had hoped, and despite small improvements from PT therapy he is still experiencing a significant amount of pain each day.

On the family front, we would ask your continued prayers for our daughter Amy, husband Kevin and family. They were hoping to leave for their mission assignment at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya on July 14th. But as their house has not yet sold and they still need $2,000/month support, they have reset their departure for September 2011. Please pray in particular that their house will sell soon. It is taking quite a financial toll on them to carry both their mortgage and rent the mission house they have temporarily moved into, as most of their worldly goods have been sold or dispersed in anticipation of their departure. In light of their delay, they also need jobs to get them through till September, with enough flexibility to travel to raise the remainder of their support. For them as well, please pray that they will not get discouraged.

It is always such an encouragement to us to write you about our prayer needs. For we know you take prayer seriously and that God is working on our behalf because you do pray. Keep up the good work!

In His Care,

Dear Friends and Family,

People often ask how God is using the clinic to impact people’s lives. Let us tell you a story about a young boy, his family, and how their lives were changed.

Ashenafi was paralyzed from the waist down from spina bifida. After an attempt at surgical closure of the defect at an Ethiopian hospital, he also developed hydrocephale. Genet, his mom, first brought Ashenafi to the clinic as some bed sores he had developed from long hours sitting in one position because of his paralysis. Despite his disabilities, Ashenafi was a bright, cheerful three year old, rewarding everyone with broad, happy smiles.

We began to treat Ashenafi’s wounds. In the meantime we decided to use funds available through Langano Kids Aid to take Ashenafi to Addis Ababa, to a Korean mission hospital to see what it would take to have a shunt placed as treatment of Ashenafi’s hydrocelphale. Surprisingly, the Korean hospital had a special program to help children like Ashenafi and arrangements were made for surgery.

God was already at work in Genet’s and her husband’s lives even before they came to the clinic. Because of Ashenafi’s disabilities Genet and her husband began to cry out to God. In addition to the clinic staff’s attempts to share the Good News of Christ with Genet, a wise Christian friend began to witness to Genet and her husband and to take them to church. Knowing their problems were far greater than they could handle on their own, they soon put their trust in Christ as Lord and Savior and began to faithfully attend an evangelical church.

But life was still hard for Genet and her family. Ashenafi’s needs were great and his parents were frequently discouraged. One time, Genet, who was emotionally burned out from caring for her disabled son, had enough. She left Ashenafi with her husband and disappeared for a time. Genet was depressed and needed to get away. In her darkest hour, God was there to meet her and after a brief time away from her family Genet once again returned to her son and husband.

It was soon after this dark time in Genet’s life that God did an amazing thing for Ashenafi. Because Langano Kids Aid was able to continue to send Ashenafi to back to the hospital, a neurologist and therapists were able to keep working with Ashenafi and he started to make remarkable progress.

A couple of weeks ago Genet came to visit us at the clinic. She had both her husband and Ashenafi in tow. The nurse that had initially sent Ashenafi to Addis for evaluation of his condition was shocked to see Ashenafi walk into the clinic holding his mother’s hand. Yes, Ashenafi was gaining the ability to walk! Genet explained that because we had helped her and her son, we were witnessing a miracle. Her son that was paralyzed from birth was now walking.

God sometimes works in unusual ways, and Ashenafi’s story is an unusual one. God continues to work behind the scenes, performing miracles, both physically and in people’s lives, like Genet and her husband, in leading them to faith.

We do need funding to be able to continue to help children with special needs like Ashenafi get advanced medical care through our Langano Kids Aid project, when needed. If you are interested in helping, gifts can be made to SIM to the Langano Kids Aid project, earmarked with the code ET-92537.

The last time we sent out a hard-copy letter we were facing some hard times in our clinic history. The effectiveness of the clinic was questioned. But God has brought us through that rough patch and has continued to bless the clinic ministry. In fact, the mission was delighted to learn that the clinic is considered by the community as a safe meeting point, where people can get their questions answered about Christianity. Frequently groups of young people and elders in the community ask to meet with our national evangelist at the clinic to ask questions of faith, rather than being seen at a church. Once the clinic’s effectiveness and impact on the community was fully understood and its role in planting churches, measures were taken to assure the longevity of the clinic ministry. Late in 2010 SIM Ethiopia signed a new 3 year agreement with the Ethiopian government, which allows our clinic to continue functioning as a basic health center until late 2013. At that same time as the clinic project was extended, our House of Hope project was also given the go-ahead to continue, with some changes to make that project more effective into the future. In addition, following the signing of the new health agreement, work on a clinic extension started, which will double our exam room space and provide a private venue in which to do more effective HIV testing and counseling. Dan is actively involved in building that addition and will continue to make this his primary work focus for the next several months.

Speaking of Dan, he has faced some health challenges over the past several months for which reason we made a brief trip to the states to get answers this spring. As a result of chronic back and leg pain Dan will likely face back surgery in about a year, but is continuing with a new pain management regime for now. Please be praying with us for effective pain control without affecting his quality of life.

Another big need we have in regards to our clinic is additional housing for our Ethiopian nurses. We are hampered in hiring additional staff, not due to funding constraints alone, but due to inadequate housing. We desperately need another duplex so we can hire more staff. We have an SIM project in place through which funds needed to get this project started can be raised. If you would like to help, gifts can be given to project ET-92535, the Langano Nurses’ Duplex project.

For a bit of family news, our daughter Amy, her husband and three children are preparing to leave the states for their first mission assignment at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya. Their plan is to be on the field mid-July, should their support be full by June 20th. They need a few key things to happen before they can leave. They need their house to sell (They do have some people interested, but no definite offers yet.) and the remainder of the monthly support promised in full before they are able to depart. Their target date is set for July 14th. Please pray for them in this endeavor.

Dear Praying Friends,

Greetings from Canandaigua, NY, one of New York’s Finger Lakes! This is the place God has placed us as we seek solutions to medical issues Dan has been facing.

Even before we left Ethiopia we wondered how God would provide housing and a vehicle for us while home. The mission house we usually rent was occupied, and our kids were borrowing our car until they leave for their mission assignment at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya. The way God provided for us is a story all its own.

God prompted a couple from our church, that we had never met, that he wanted them to get personally involved with His work in Ethiopia. They began praying. Were they to go on a short term missions trip, or become full time missionaries? Or were they to adopt an Ethiopian child? They had no clue what God required of them. But they wanted to be compliant, whatever the Lord asked. Shortly after they began to pray, our church in Rochester put a notice in the bulletin that we were going to be home on an unexpected medical leave and we needed to have a place to stay. That is when the light bulb went on. God was asking of them to provide housing. They had a home on Lake Canandaigua in which they live during the summer months. But summer hadn’t yet arrived, and the house would be empty for the weeks we would need a place to stay. So here we are in a lakeside home in Canandaigua, close to Rochester.

Then the Lord prompted another family to loan us a vehicle, as their daughter, who usually uses the vehicle, is in South America doing her student teaching at a mission school for the time we need wheels.

Praise God with us for meeting our physical needs while in the states so well.

In our last update we told you of the excruciating pain Dan was experiencing, which prompted us to make this trip home. The cause of the pain has been identified as a compressed nerve root and the solution is back surgery. However, the neurosurgeon we have consulted assures us that no permanent damage will be done if we postpone surgery until a time when Dan’s work allows a long enough break for proper convalescence. So Dan has opted for pain management until we are due for home assignment in 2012. It will take a bit of time to adjust his medication to a dose that effectively controls the pain yet allows him to function unhindered by side effects, but so far so good. The medication seems to be helping.

The other medical issue Dan was facing was some short term memory losses. We were quite relieved to find that the cause is a deficiency in vitamin B12. We are thankful this is a very treatable condition and that his memory will improve.

Unexpected benefits from being home is that we have been able to check on both Dan’s and Kim’s mom’s progress and be reassured that they are stable, happy, and being well cared for. In visiting Dan’s mom, we had the unexpected privilege to meet up with Dan’s two sisters and their husbands. Kim has also been able to see all of her siblings and their spouses. We have been able meet our daughter Andrea’s boyfriend and we hope to see our son Alan and get to know his girlfriend better (we met her briefly last year during Alan’s graduation), as they plan to come to NY for several days before we head back to Ethiopia. God is good!

Something that happened since our last email was that Langano had three break-ins, including our house, after we left Langano on this trip. Thankfully, the thief has been apprehended and is presently serving time in prison. We will find out just what we lost after we get back to Ethiopia, but from what others have told us, it were likely things that are easily replaced and of low monetary value.

Another issue that has arisen while we have been home is that we lost one of our Ethiopian nurses at the clinic unexpectedly due to family childcare problems. Finding 1-2 new nurses is something Kim will need to deal with as soon as we get back to Ethiopia. (By the way, we head back to Ethiopia on May 16th.) Please pray that God will lead Kim to just the right nurses to fit this need….and that funding will be found to build a nurse’s duplex which is necessary to house them. If anyone is interested in contributing to this cause, please send your gifts to SIM USA, PO Box 7900, Charlotte, NC 28241 to project ET-92535, or give on line to the Langano Nurses’ Duplex project at www.sim.org

Finally, be praying for our daughter Amy and her husband as they seek to be on the field by the middle of July. They still need to sell their house and raise the remainder of their monthly support by June 20th to be able to leave on schedule. Please pray that these issues will be resolved in short order and that, if it is God’s will, they can depart on schedule.

To summarize, please be praying with us about the following:

Praise for God’s provision of housing and a car for us on this unexpected trip to the states

Praise the Lord the thief responsible for the Langano break-ins has been apprehended

Pray a resolution to Dan’s chronic pain

For God to lead Kim to nurses of His choice willing to work at Langano, AND willing to temporarily live in less-than-ideal housing until a nurses’ duplex can be built

That the full funding for the much needed nurses duplex to come in

For the sale and closing of Amy and Kevin’s house and full mission support raised

For the two Langano court cases to be resolved once and for all

For a safe trip back to Ethiopia May 16th

Thank you for praying.

In Him,
Dan & Kim

Dear Praying Friends,

The spring has flown by for us! We have had quite a number of mission teams come through Langano since the beginning of the year. Two of these teams we have had a special interest in. One from Browncroft Community Church (the church we call our own) and the other, masters prepared family nurse practitioners ready to graduate from Baylor University . All mission team members have been top quality people who have contributed in special ways to our ministry and some we feel God hand picked to meet specific needs. One such person was a veterinarian who came to Langano hoping to be used some way on the mission field, just after 4 horses were purchased for our clinic and House of Hope staff to use for home visits. We needed her veterinary expertise and we definitely made the most of her time here. The second was a genetics counselor who was a tremendous help in counseling families dealing with the fact that their children had chromosomal disorders. God worked in and through each team in amazing ways to both help and encourage all of us at Langano.

Our big news for you today is that we will be making another trip to the states starting April 1st . Dan has been experiencing some disturbing pain in his back and legs that seems to be worsening over time. SIM thinks it is prudent for us to investigate the cause state-side. Our plan, at this point, is to be in the Rochester area for 6 weeks, returning to Langano by the end of May. Please pray with us that the source of this pain can be pinpointed and that a viable treatment plan can be implemented, so that we can continue to serve unhindered at Langano. Also, thank the Lord that there is a house available for us to use for a 4 week period of our stay on a lake near Rochester, and friends who have offered for us to stay with them for the remaining time. And a car is available for our use too. So our needs are being met, even on such short notice.

Some have written asking about how the two Langano court cases have turned out. Unfortunately, we have not faired well in either of those cases. SIM has submitted appeals and we expect the cases to go to a higher level in the court system soon. So keep praying!!
